Farewell

October 19, 2014

Greetings GreyHaven members and fans,

After a good long run GreyHaven Community will no longer organize and host collaborative music events. In the 5 years that GreyHaven Community was active we hosted 28 concerts consisting of over 104 unique songwriters and many, many supporting musicians.

Some great local venues and businesses provided space for concerts including Urban Standard, Avondale Brewing, Workplay, Matthew's Bar, Iron City, The Red Cat, Sound & Page, The UCF House, and BottleTree. We also had some wonderful individuals help and encourage the community along the way: the Lower family, the Carter family, the Hebert family, Bekah Fox, the Harper family, Justin Cross, Wilder Adkins, the Akin family, Grant Millsaps, Laura Chancey, and Nateka Scogin (just to name a few). We are grateful for all of you who supported the music and took on our vision of a music community. From connections made through GreyHaven, bands were formed and many musicians and songwriters in the area were connected and continue to make great art through collaboration.

We encourage all of you to continue seeking out other musicians and songwriters to collaborate with and to take the ideas of GreyHaven and run with them. Community and collaboration make everything and everyone better.

Sincerely,

Corey Scogin
Caleb Chancey
