Grey Haven 13 – April 17th – Paint the Town Red!

Posted on Sunday, March 7th, 2010

Grey Haven 13 will be held as a part of Paint the Town Red!

Paint the Town Red is a digital media event downtown where buildings become canvases for art!

Grey Haven will have an outdoor stage in the parking lot across from Urban Standard.  We will be EXPANDING Grey Haven to fill 4 HOURS of the festival.

What does this mean?

It means that for this show, we will have 10 Songwriters performing 5 SONGS each!  For those of you who may have felt limited by the confines of Urban Standard, feel free to let loose and round up a full band to perform with you.

for Songwriters:

  • Email us if you are interested in performing in one of the 10 slots.
  • You are responsible for 5 songs.
  • You must perform with at least 2 other artists one of which must have performed at Grey Haven previously.
  • It’s ok to split your set with another songwriter as long as you both play on every song and use the same band.  It’s not ok to play two songs, introduce the other songwriter and her band then leave. (rant over)
  • If you haven’t already, Email us a bio and pic to post on our growing artists index page. This will hopefully become a resource to connect musicians with songwriters.

for Musicians

  • Email us if you are interested in playing with a songwriter.  We’ll pass that info along.
  • Be proactive…once we email out the list of scheduled performers, call or email them to see if you can play with them.
  • If you haven’t already, Email us a bio and pic to post on our growing artists index page. This will hopefully become a resource to connect musicians with songwriters.

for Fans

You won’t want to miss this one.  There’ll be plenty of room to find a good spot to listen.  There are a few great places to get dinner, a drink, or coffee right next door.

How you can help

We need a couple of volunteers to assist in allocating and setting up things like tables, chairs, staging, etc on the day of the show.  We will begin setting up between noon and 2:00.

As always, invite your friends, coworkers, neighbors, postal service worker, …

Things we need to have provided:

  • A large canopy to cover the stage area in case it rains (or a nice covered stage)
  • Smaller canopies for the mixer area, other places.
  • A simple lighting setup.
